On March 27th in the CCIS building, 5 Days will be holding it’s very first Krispy Kreme bake sale! Students and staff can come by to enjoy a small break with some delicious Krispy Kreme donuts during their busy day! People will not only be treating their taste buds to some delectable donuts, but will also be supporting a meaningful cause! All of your generous proceeds received from bake sales will be directly contributed to YESS (Youth Empowerment & Support Services) to support at-risk youth who face homelessness. 5 Days for the Homeless is extremely excited to announce that we held our very first pitch competition this year! With 12 different teams joining us in exploring a number of diverse solutions addressing homelessness in Edmonton, alongside our proud corporate partner Brookfield Residential, the event was a huge success with our teams taking home a prize pool of $1900!

Teams had the opportunity to connect with passionate individuals interested in driving social change, serving as a catalyst in supporting and empowering themselves to become the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders committed to making a lasting difference in our community.

On January 28th, 2024, we had our first opportunity to work with our 2024 Volunteer Ambassadors to help sort donations at the Edmonton Food Bank! Our executives had a fantastic time working along side our new team and we’re looking forward to our next volunteering opportunity!

On December 3rd 2023, we had the fantastic opportunity to collaborate with ANPA (Alberta Not-for-Profit Association) to host an internal case competition at the Alberta School of Business. With 11 different teams competing to develop comprehensive and unique solutions for the local Edmontonian company ‘More than a Fad’, the competition was a rousing success, attracting significant attention from our student body and as well as serving to provide our teams with new knowledge and expertise from our panel of judges.

The volunteer experience with our executive team at Habitat for Humanity was an incredible opportunity! We dedicated our time and effort to helping organize and clean the store, working hand in hand with their staff to learn about the organization’s values and efforts.
