Where does my donation go?
100% of donations received will go towards Youth Empowerment & Support Services (YESS), whose mission is to walk beside traumatized youth on their journey towards healing and appropriate community integration. YESS is an Edmonton-based not-for-profit organization that provides accessible 24/7 shelter, temporary housing, and resources that help prevent youth re-entry into homelessness. Can I get a tax receipt for my donation?
CanadaHelps, you will receive a tax receipt automatically from the platform via email.
eTransfer, You will receive a tax receipt if you provide the following information: your Full Name with middle initial, your donor type (personal or on behalf of a corporate), your physical address and your phone number. This information can be provided in the notes section of your eTransfer. Alternatively, you can send this information in a follow up email to edmonton@5days.ca. Please note in contrast to the CanadaHelps this method will take additional time for processing and receiving your tax receipt.
What is team fundraising?
Team fundraising, also known as peer-to-peer fundraising, is a way for people to expand their social reach and fundraising capabilities by being part of a team. Participants can either create or join a team on the CanadaHelps website. The team that fundraises the most money will earn their name on our annual 5 Days for the Homeless Plaque. How else can I support the campaign?
Raising awareness about youth homelessness is one of the primary goals of 5 Days for the Homeless; so if you would like to further support our campaign, please consider sharing us on your social media!
